Q3 Requirements
1. My slide show questions Huxley's view and puts the viewer in the position of how it would be like living in a Huxley's utopian world while also demonstratingsome of the things individuals had to experience.
2.
Huxley’s vision of modern life is distinct and more advance from today’s society. Drugs, meaningless sex, and manipulated happiness was normal. He made up this fantasized illusion of living to fit for all citizens creating a utopian world.
In the novel we are introduced to soma, the drug many people depend on taking for pleasure. A popular drug people take today is marijuana which too is taken for pleasure (not including medical marijuana). So in a way marijuana is Huxley’s soma in a less intense way.
We learn that meaningless sex was very casual. Children were exposed to sexual activity at a very young age. His predictions to modern life were not focused on intimate relationships just as today some people choose to get involved with each other with no strings attached.
Lastly, in BNW everyone’s happiness was manipulated. People were conditioned to feel some type of way and were restricted to feel something otherwise. Classes couldn't questions their authority or jobs, high or low. Everything was controlled just as people in modern life are advised to make everyday better than the last. Some people rather be blinded from the bad to not have to deal with it in a daily basis. Emotions good or bad make us human, but Huxley predicts that only guaranteed happiness accomplishes a better lifestyle.

3.
The Quick Timed Write was meant to allow us the freedom of discussing civil disobedience and our position towards the subject with the support of Oscar Wilde's claims.

4.
The timeline my group and I did on American Literature stretched from the 14th century all the way to the 21st century. I learned about how Christopher Columbus writing about his discoveries escalated to today’s audiobooks, digital books, paperback books, etc.
5.
Some of the things I learned in Quarter 3 were related to ethics which further connected to the discussion of civil disobedience. I did meet my learning goals, I feel like I understand more about morals, compassion, and controversial issues. I did get the grade I deserved because for the most part I did complete all the work that was assigned to me. The most meaningful assignment we did was the unit where we talked about compassion and what it really means to be compassionate. I gained the most from the debates we did, it was an exciting learning experience. I wish we had skipped the Brave New World reading room if we had a set of questions to answer on top of it. I’m dreading the major project we will have to do in Quarter 4. My learning goals for Quarter 4 is to get ready to take the exam on May and feel prepared for it.
